The Holy Spirit Helps us in Our Weakness

How often have you heard these statements:

‘The Holy Spirit intercedes for me so I don’t have to pray so much”

“The Holy Spirit will bring them all in”

“God’s in control & we will just see what happens”

Contrary to popular belief in the church, the Holy Spirit will not do our job for us, He will not do what Jesus has commissioned us (the church) to do but HE WILL HELP US!

‘Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. ‘ Romans 8:26

As we discussed in our blog post Greater is the One dwelling in you! the Holy Spirit has been sent to help the church accomplish her purpose & destiny of taking the gospel into ALL the world. He will help us (take hold together with us) in our weaknesses.

What are our weaknesses?

• Not knowing what we should pray for as we ought (if we study the Bible we should know how to pray).
• Not knowing what we should preach as we ought.
• Not knowing where to be & what to do as we ought.
• Pretty much anything that goes beyond our natural ability & requires the help of the Holy Spirit.

We have said before & say again weakness is not a disqualifier but qualifies us for the help of the Holy Spirit. He takes people from all backgrounds, nations, tribes, tongues & turns them into powerhouses as they learn to lean on Him.

What have you been struggling with? Be encouraged to take a moment, get quite, look to the Holy Spirit & say “Holy Spirit help me” – He will take hold together with you & put you over.
